Venezuelan Man Arrested for Manufacturing and Selling Drugs in Miami Beach Apartment with Toddler Present

Arrest of Martin Andres Romero

In a shocking turn of events, 36-year-old Martin Andres Romero, a Venezuelan man, was arrested on June 25, 2025, after Miami Beach police uncovered his illegal drug manufacturing and distribution operation. What makes this case even more concerning is the fact that Romero’s 3-year-old son was present in the apartment at the time of his arrest.

The Drug Deal and Arrest

The Miami Beach police’s investigation into Romero’s activities began on June 19, 2025, when an undercover detective contacted him to purchase $200 worth of cocaine. Romero agreed to the transaction and met the detective outside his apartment. Upon completing the exchange, Romero sold the detective 2 grams of cocaine before returning to his apartment.

The police, with sufficient evidence, obtained a search warrant for the apartment the following day. Romero was apprehended on the front patio of the building, while his young son was found inside a bedroom.

Discovery of Drugs and Drug Manufacturing Tools

Upon searching the apartment, authorities found a disturbing array of drugs and drug manufacturing tools. The substances seized included:

  • 42 grams of suspected cocaine

  • 98 grams of suspected MDMA

  • 2 grams of suspected LSD

  • 157 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms

  • 602 grams of suspected ketamine

  • 6 grams of suspected fentanyl

In the kitchen, detectives discovered mixing instruments containing powdery residue, as well as small bags with suspected drugs nearby. These findings indicated that Romero was likely manufacturing “2CB,” also known as tusi or pink cocaine. The substances found in the kitchen matched the precursors used for this dangerous drug.

Charges Against Romero

Romero now faces multiple serious charges, including:

  • Drug trafficking

  • Manufacturing a controlled substance

  • Child abuse (without great bodily harm)

  • Renting property for the purpose of trafficking

  • Unlawful use of a communications device

The presence of his 3-year-old son in the apartment has made the charges even more severe. The authorities have also placed an immigration hold on Romero, as he is a Venezuelan national.

Romero’s Current Status

As of June 25, 2025, Martin Andres Romero remains in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. His bond has not yet been set, and he faces a lengthy legal process ahead.

This case underscores the ongoing concern about illegal drug manufacturing in residential areas, especially when children are involved. Romero’s actions have left a devastating impact on his family, and the case is a stark reminder of the dangers posed by drug trafficking.
