A man has been arrested for pistol-whipping a victim during a home invasion at an apartment building in Miami Beach, where he is also accused of committing a burglary. The incident occurred at the Flamingo Towers on Bay Road, Miami Beach, on Tuesday.
The Crime Unfolds
The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Brian Lopez, allegedly forced a woman back to her apartment, brandished a firearm, and threatened three other people inside. When one of the victims resisted, Lopez struck them in the head with the gun.

In addition to the assault, Lopez reportedly stole a cellphone and coerced another victim into transferring $1,500 to him via Zelle.
Quick Arrest
Lopez was apprehended by police shortly after the crime, not far from the apartment building. During their investigation, authorities discovered that Lopez had also been involved in a burglary at another apartment in the same building, where he stole a cellphone, keys, and a wallet.
Charges and Criminal History
Lopez now faces multiple charges, including armed home invasion, armed robbery, and armed burglary with battery. According to an arrest report, he has a lengthy criminal history, having recently been released from state prison. At the time of the incident, he was under supervision for prior charges, which include drug sales, battery on a law enforcement officer, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
